About the Press
The Gender Studies Research Centre operates under the auspices of the Institute of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Szeged. Its members examine the lives, movements, and histories of British, American, Hungarian, and diaspora Hungarian women, as well as the cultural, literary, and media representations of women's lived experiences. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of gender studies and the multimedia character of the phenomena under investigation, the researchers aim to offer critical reflections on spatial, temporal, and value-based diversity, primarily within the fields of literary studies, linguistics, media studies, and cultural studies.
The main professional forums of the research group include the Language, Ideology, Media conference, held annually since 2005; Gender Studies workshops organized each semester with international guest speakers; the TNT e-journal, launched in 2010 and published twice a year; and the TNT e-books series, established in 2023.
