Képi sémák az ’ül’ kvázikopulák létrejöttének hátterében
Synopsis
In the present paper, I investigate the meanings of the quasi-copula ’sit’ in European and non-European languages. Preliminary research suggests that languages can be grouped according to whether or not the quasi-copula verb 'sit' is used at all and, if so, what semantic constraints are imposed on its use. The methodological question is how to relate the semantics of the quasi-copula 'sit' to the material culture surrounding the speakers of the lan–guage. To this end, the methods of cognitive linguistics will be employed. First, I will try to identify the image schemas that serve as a background for the formation of the characteristic meanings, and then I will try to infer the relationship between the image schemas and the material culture.
