AI in linguistics: opportunities and challenges
Synopsis
The collected papers in this volume emerged from a two-day conference on artificial intelligence in German academies of sciences in September 2024 in Hamburg and the bi-annual workshop during this conference organized by the working group Linguistische Daten- und Datenbanken (‘linguistic data and databases’). Both this conference and the accompanying workshop showcased a variety of applications of AI in research. This volume collects some of these talks, with a heavy focus on linguistics and language processing by means of artificial intelligence tools.
